The Club was formed in 1935 as a social and craft club. In 1938, Ann and Bill Leader donated land and the present clubhouse was built with volunteer labor. In 1948 and 1949, a new roof with support cables was installed. In 1971, the Montecahto Social Club began bi-monthly meetings for potluck and cards, with husbands and guests, which continues to this day.
In 1977 and 1978, there was a really big snow and the club's roof tilted. Winches pulled it back together and cables and plates were installed to hold it. Spring 2012, all windows were replaced.
Montecahto presently has a yearly fund-raising Cherry Pie sale, participates in the Finley Point Fireman's Garage Sale and provides college scholarships to a Polson High School student. In 2012 we added a scholarship for a student that is planning a non-traditional education.
We are always looking for community members to help us achieve our goals. If you share our passion for helping others and making a difference, we would love to hear from you.
